LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she is not going to run for the U.S. Senate in 2026.
The seat is opening up with the upcoming retirement of U.S. Senator Gary Peters, who says he is not going to run again. Whitmer’s Fight Like Hell political action committee says she is not planning to run.
A poll released last week shows she would defeat Republicans Tudor Dixon and Mike Rogers in the race.
